Michelle Amey, LCSW
Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and one of The Children's Clinic of Fredericksburg's contractors and provides supervising services for our counselors. She graduated with her Master's in Social Work in 2007 and became licensed to practice clinical work in 2010. Michelle has experience in working with children, adolescents and adults in managing mood disorders, behavioral struggles, trauma and substance abuse.
For the past 5 years Michelle has worked with both youth and adults who were involved in the legal system. Michelle is a very dedicated clinician that focuses her practice with client centered treatment.
She utilizes evidenced based treatment modalities that include: Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and strength based approaches. Michelle has a passion for helping others and a genuine desire to support individuals who are struggling.
